Welcome ABOARD Mrs. Brim!

Meet Amy Brim!  She's our gifted resource/Itinerant Teacher and she spends
time with the crew every Friday!  She's filled with fun ideas and I LOVE working
with her.  She's helped the crew learn more about how they
learn best, helped with reading conferences, and also a fun folder activity to
help her learn more about each little pirate!  We are happy to have her
on board this voyage of learning!

Pirate Crew Smiles!

Super cuties!

Silly faces!

The MILK experiment

We are scientists using our senses to make new discoveries and
our minds to try to figure out why things happen!

The crew called what happened "an explosion" in the colors
on their plate!

More Week Two Learning and Fun!

We've discovered that the August heat is not so fun at our afternoon recess
time so the crew likes to take "excursions" to the playground in the morning instead
on days we do not have a resource.

Here we are learning how to cooperatively work with each other and solve
a number chat challenge in math.

Now it's time to share our thinking!

BRAINBREAK!!!  Let's move between activities to get
our wiggles OUT!

Learning to be careful what we SAY!

We have been working on not being "Volcanos" with our mouths!
Here is the crew RACING to get their toothpaste out of the tube and then later faced
with having to try to put it back into the tube.  We learned that no matter
our age we can't take back the words we say so we have to THINK before
we speak.  This activity helped us learn that truth!

First Week of 1st grade FUN!

Our crew has been "sailing" for a week together.  I've learned SO much about each of them already.  Here are some final picture memories of our first week together!

 Writing Time!

Here we are learning to use manipulatives as "tools" and not "toys!"

All about ME bags!

Making Friends!

We spent time learning how to NOT be a "Goop!"

 Partner Reading- learning to EEKK!!

Finally, our fish have definitely been a highlight of our journey so far!  The crew loves to see which sea creature decides to join the bubbles going "up!"
The adventures of a first grader always make me smile!
