I love the independence that Daily 5 offers the crew! Today they were all eager to start their rounds and here is what round one looked like:
Kids all over the room were independently working!
This pirate was digging into a new book about robots and learning so many new things he wanted to share!
These two were creating a book together about bugs!
Here we have one pirate reading a new non fiction book and the two other pirates creating a book. One was the author working on the story and the other was the illustrator creating all the pictures!
These two were rereading their own poetry and deciding their favorites they wanted to publish. Lots of thoughtful questions and decisions made.
This group of caring pirates deicded to create cards and messages for a pirate that went home early because she was sick.
This pirate started with reading a new poetry book by Shel Silverstein and then moved to reading a non fiction shark book sure to inspire him as he creates an animal poem.
These two were listening to books online and chose a story to act out the motions as they read.
They all have their own personal goals they work on each day and the Daily 5 structure allows it to happen beautifully!! I can't wait to see all the learning that happens Rounds 2 & 3!
